Yahoo OAuth Support and Snow Leopard Support in 1.0.4

by Jason Harwig ~ February 11th, 2010. Filed under: Delish.

I know some users were curious if active development is continuing on Delish. I can assure you that the next major version (1.1) is coming along nicely. I had to divert energy for a 1.0.4 release after delicious.com announced a change to their login process on their blog. The login process doesn’t change for existing users, but new users are required to create a Yahoo account.

The release is available now, download Delish 1.0.4, or click the Delish menu and check for updates.

Now that this release is finished I can resume work on version 1.1. Notable improvements in that version are a revamped interface, and bookmark editing.

Here is the new login screen:

That is great! I am very happy to hear this. I love Delish but really, really was hoping to get bookmark editing at some point.

I would also love if you could somehow control the resolution at which screenshots are taken.
And if you could figure out how to include Flash in elements in the screenshot, that would make this thing amazing. it kind of sucks to have lots of bookmarks that have blank thumbnails because of Flash content.

    Regards

    Danny,

Unfortunately, I just haven’t figured how to allow flash to load without audio. Otherwise random sounds would play in hidden webview while the screenshot was generated.

The resolution of the screenshots should improve in future versions where I detect the best width that will fit the page.

Don’t understand from this post: is current ver. of Delish Snow Leopard compatible? Not according to versiontracker, and I just tried to use it to log into delicious.com on an SL machine, but got repeated errors.

    Hey Jason,

nice and delicious app. I just purchase it!

    Review after some minutes:

    - some freezing by switching through the views and tags
    - did you plan any editing or delete functions?

I really wish I could use this site! It seems really cool. I installed it. Then I tried to use it.
    – It says invalid username/password.
    - I tested my username and password and that information is correct.
    - I tried it with and without the @yahoo.
    - I attempted to authorize the account.
    - It gives a warning that this application and website is not verified by Yahoo.
    - I tell it to authorize anyway and it still gives me an error:
Yahoo! is unable to process your request. We recommend that you contact the owner of the application or web site to resolve this issue. [95025]

It seems like a sweet application. I wish I could use it.
    (I am running mac 10.5.8)

Why not consider open-sourcing this with a donation option? Development has basically stopped and it’s not been updated to support new things with Delicious/Yahoo and other annoyances are not getting fixed.

I like this app a lot, but development needs to progress.

I would be interested in helping further development and marketing the thing to get the word out. Get in touch
